Environmental Health

You may need to engage Environmental Health to make sure your business is in compliance with any legislation, such as hygiene.

Business Rates

Make sure you are registered with the Business Rates team and that your premises are correct.

Licensing

You may need to obtain an appropriate licence for your premises.

Council Grant Support

The Council currently has a shop front improvement grant scheme for eligible businesses in across the three town centres.

Whilst the Council does not own any business premises itself it can help you find suitable premises in the area if they are available.

Opportunities

The Council does not own any commercial units of its own, however there are a number of allocated sites within the Council's Local Plan for development across the Borough.

Our Investor Prospectus provides information on some of the opportunities.

Local Business Database

We are keen to improve our ability to work with businesses in the borough and to do this we need a greater understanding of your business and your particular needs so that we can provide you with the relevant information and support (e.g. latest news, funding and grant opportunities, etc.) to grow and prosper. Please take a few minutes to add your business to our database or sign up for our bi-monthly briefing.
